Getting things started

It is now February and it looks like we will be getting a late winter thaw in the next week. That means the river level will be increasing and it will be about time to hit the warm water discharge to begin the fishing season for 2009. Usually I fish the warm water in early March but I am itching to get in the river so I might begin fishing early. Tuesday Jack had a dentist appointment with Dr. Bill who also flyfishes. Which is awesome becuase we try to fish together whenever we can which becuase of life isn't very often. We have repeatedly tried to get together to tie flies this winter but it never has materialized. We are planning on tying on Thursday and I am excited to tie becuase I need some more road kills and mauraders for the spring. I also bought some flies from a friend of mine today. I bought 5 dozen flies for 20 bucks. These flies are for bluegill and crappie. My buddy has a local business called Lake Manitou flies and his workmanship is amazing. I would recommend to anyone that needs to buy flies for bluegill and crappie. Dave does a great job. Hopefully, I will be able to relate fishing stories soon.
Until then
peace

Welcome

Hey
Here is the first post for Flyfishing for Christ. This is a blog where I am going to discuss my two favorite hobbies; flyfishing and living for Jesus Christ. Expect to hear about my fishing adventures and my life with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Since we are getting about 3-4 inches of snow right here in Northern Indiana the fishing stories will have to wait until at least February. Until then I will just discuss the Lord Jesus Christ and how amazing he is. I did however, just purchase several bluegill flies from a buddy of mine at work who owns a company called Lake Manitou Flies. I am excited about trying them out this spring
